Charles Nwokolo was born on August 21, 1960 in Nigeria, West Africa. Fighting under the name "Young Dick Tiger", he started his boxing career at the age of 13. He fought in 91 amateur fights. Young Dick Tiger became the West African Pro Olympic Boxing Champ. He is also a former Olympian who fought with Team Nigeria in the Los Angeles 1984 Olympics. In 1985 after the Olympics, Charles turned professional and was an active athlete until 1996 with an impressive record of 31 wins with 20 wins by knockout.

Charles now runs Tiger Boxing Gym in Hollywood, CA right on the famous Melrose Ave. He coaches his son, Emeka Nwokolo, who is an active professional boxer making his way onto attaining a world boxing title.
